from darkness the day
Performance work for children 8-12 years old
Directed by Felecia Hick
Duration: 40’
From Darkness the Day is a beautiful work that invite children in a journey to freedom through the wings of a little bird, after overcoming the worst fears. The projection work by Luku Kuku, the music of Hilary Kleinig and the set design by Meg Wilson create a magical and ever transforming space. I was invited to be part of the final development as a dancer and collaborator alongside Stephen Noonan.
The mastery of Felecia Hick, guided by the dramatist Glen Johns, made this one of the most rewarding project.

This project was developed in the land of the Kaurna people.
I would like to acknowledge the First Nations peoples of Australia as the traditional owners of the land.
I respect and acknowledge their spiritual connection as the custodians of their land and that their cultural heritage beliefs are still important for the living people of today. I pay respect to elders, past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
