Who I am…

An expert beginner who loves dancing her way through the world.

I love meeting people, embodying stories, memories and landscapes.

I am addicted to experiencing, to learning.

I want to explore the artistic potential of the intersection of all my passions.

I want to question what it means to be an artist.

I seek vitality, joy, growth, enlivenment and deep internal reforestation.

I seek peace with ‘time’.

I want to show up to my community, and to the trees, lakes, stones, rivers…

Since 2013 I have established myself as an independent artist working across performance, community, health, research and environmental matters, through various mediums such as dance and movement, voice, drawing, photography and film.

My practice is fundamentally grounded in embodiment, artistic expression, negotiation of space/ time, accessibility, compassion and the natural environment; using improvisation, real time composition as frameworks, ultimately I delve into the body as a process, as a whole, as a mind, as a spirit, as a memory, as a landscape as a political body.

Perspective and temporality seems to be a common ground across all my work as they enable me to deeply address themes I am concerned with: Loss and Intra/Inter-connectedness.

Loss of connections, loss of mastery, loss of bone mass, loss of home, loss of memory, loss caused by an unrealized dream, etc…… this void that is left when something is gone or something has never arrived.

Intra/Interconnectedness relates not only to the other (humans) but also to the non human = Nature. Through many residencies and longs distance walks in nature, I have developed a practice where my anatomy meets the anatomy of nature, matter meets matter, my memory, my cells meets the other memory and the other cells. This frees myself from any expected narratives and leave space for resilience and for the untold story of a place.

In future, I want to engage with communities, talk to people and dance with them their stories and their relationship with nature. I want to create my solo work and I want to continue to collaborate with other artists and create much more.
