I grew up in Italy, in the little village of Nave, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, just by the mysterious river Livenza, surrounded by chickens, dandelions, butterflies, open fields and where time was distilled by the village church bell.
Now I live between Europe and Australia (more on that over a cup of tea!) continuously researching my practice fundamentally grounded in embodiment, artistic expression, negotiation of space/ time, compassion and the natural environment.
I have a Master in Business Administration (Ca’Foscari - Venice) and after 15 years of solid corporate work as business and process analyst, in 2013 I completely committed myself to professionally research the infinite possibilities of dance and embodiment through facilitation, performance and the intersection with other art forms such as drawing, voice and film work.
I started my journey with dance in 1991 at the DanceCity dance company in Italy, where I studied and performed for 10 years. After 2 years with the Dublin Youth Dance Company, I moved to Adelaide where I met the world of improvisation and became very interested in dance as a way to enquiry the relationship between inner and outer spaces.
Totally intrigued and inspired by the practice of instant composition and improvisation, I embraced further studies with various practitioners such as Kat Worth, Alice Cummins, Nancy Stark Smith, Adam Benjamin, Alito Alessi, Katie Duck, Philip Channel, Dianne Reid, Marisa Brugarolas, Trinidad Martinez, Rosalind Crisp, Andrew Morrish, Vangelis Legakis, Frank Van de Ven, Paolo Cingolani and many more. I am still constantly asking myself: ‘where does dance come from?’
My interest in the inherent healing potentials of art and the universality that the language of the body can offer, motivated me to complete a Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy, to undertake the Danceability training, to collaborate with various dance and theatre companies that work with disabled artists and to establish dance programs for disability day care centers. Over the years I have shared dances with people from very different walks of life, abilities, ethnicities, age, gender and artistic expressions.
I have been developing my performance experience through collaborations with other wonderful artists. Now I am really interested in site specificity, connecting with vulnerable communities, I dream to create a dance work for babies and a solo work about reforestation and land healing.
I have started working with babies, children and their parents in 2013. I have become so passionate about it that I am currently completing the IDME (Infant Movement Development Education) program through the school of Body Mind Centering© and a Certificate in Play Therapy.
As a traveler, I have stepped on many remotes lands in Africa, South America and Australia. I have been blessed to connect to First Nation people whose teachings I cherish and live within me.
